Vilnius
If you want to visit a historic city, fly with Austrian Airlines to Vilnius and explore medieval Lithuanian architecture. Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania and is placed at the junction of the Vilna and Neris Rivers. Originally a trade settlement, its people and buildings have survived repeated wars and destruction. Old Town is the historic center of the city and has renovated medieval buildings that wander through narrow streets. There are ancient palaces and churches, and even a medieval town gate. The Vilnius Castle Complex is a collection of notable structures for instance: Gediminas Tower, the Royal Palace of Lithuania, and some medieval castle ruins. Also included is the Museum of Genocide Victims honoring those who fell while the country was under the control of the former Soviet Union. Old Town is even home to the city's largest university, Vilnius University.
